An energy label has been mandatory by the government since January 1, 2021 when selling or renting a home. The energy label is valid for 10 years. Homeowners are required to provide a definitive energy label to the buyer or tenant when selling, renting or delivering a home. Energy performance may also be required by the government for renovation or conversion of your home. In addition, mentioning a valid energy label is also mandatory in various advertisements. Think of sales advertisements on Funda, Facebook and any rental advertisements on Pararius.

What is an energy label?

An energy label is a very useful tool that indicates how energy-efficient a home is and which energy-saving measures are possible. The label classes run from A to G. A home with an A label is the most energy-efficient and a home with a G label is the least energy-efficient.

In addition, a better energy label can speed up the sale or rental, and the home also increases in value.
